USA Softball of Michigan is dedicated to providing its members with quality programs and training opportunities designed to strengthen communities by utilizing the resources of USA Softball...THE National Governing Body for the Sport of Softball.
To be the recognized leader in the sport of softball through:
USA Softball is built upon a foundation of providing equal opportunities for anyone to participate in the game of softball. All persons should be treated with dignity and respect and there is no room nor tolerance for racism within our community. We recognize that this is a societal problem and that we must use our position as the leader in the sport to promote inclusiveness. We encourage our community to show empathy towards others and to join us in advocating for equality for all.
Good day everyone. With the Governor's latest directive it gives entities such as USA Softball some hope for a season of some sort for 2020. The parameters that are now in place are helping us get to our ultimate goal of getting back to the field. However, all of our host sites are subject to not only federal and state guidelines...county and local guidelines factor in more than people may realize. We have already been made aware that some sites simply are not able to host even with these new parameters while others want more detailed recommendations and guidelines in place before they allow for any type of play. Some communities are focused on local play, only, with tournament play not a priority. The bad news is that it makes offering tournament play a little more challenging. The good news is that we are working with many of these communities and making progress towards a season of some sort for 2020.
As stated before, there are a variety of parameters that will need to be in place before we take the filed. USA Softball has provided us with a variety of guidelines for players, coaches, umpires, fans, and staff to help facilitate tournament play, pending local host site's permission. Be mindful that these new procedures could make the implementation of our game a little more challenging and your help will be needed to make it all work. As always, your health and well-being are our top priorities and all decisions will be made based on national, state, county and local parameters. As of June 1, 2020, here are a few updates for you involving all of our games including Adult Slow Pitch, Adult Fast Pitch, Men's Modified, Umpires, and Junior Olympic as well as Hall of Fame information.
