On October 1, 2023, interviews were held for the USA Softball of Michigan's Umpire in Chief position, as Bryan Smith has stepped down from that role. We could not have been more pleased with the candidates we had. We were impressed with their passion and commitment to USA Softball of Michigan, as well as their desire to continue building on the success of the Michigan Umpire program. After much deliberation, we are honored to announce that Ross Martin has been selected as the new Umpire in Chief for USA Softball of Michigan! Not only does Ross bring a wealth of knowledge to this position, but he also possesses additional skill sets, both on and off the field, that will help our association as a whole now and for years to come. Ross begins his new role, immediately.
